Our community is being forced into a police state. Flock cameras are proliferating and damaging our fundamental right to an anonymous and free lifestyle. The City of Reno has recently agreed to spend $100,000 for two surveillance cameras. To what end?
Reno needs more housing that people can actually afford. I’ll support smart development, reduce bottlenecks, and ensure long-term planning, not short-term fixes. We've adopted a policy of demolishing our history. Where are all of the beautiful motel signs that used to adorn our downtown? And how have we accommodated the longtime residents of these places?
A stronger downtown starts with compassion and accountability. I support services that help people get back on their feet, paired with clear expectations and measurable results. I live downtown. I work downtown. I love downtown. It is a neighborhood that we all should embrace, not be afraid of.
